Wired 311 Calls Data Visualization
Receiving over 50,000 calls a day, NYC311 was set up to field complaints and provide other important information to New York City citizens such as school closings and recycling rules. We took data from 34,522 calls between September 8 and 15, 2010 and plotted the most common complaint types by time of day. What resulted was a colorful portrait of what irks New Yorkers all hours of the day and night.
From midnight to midnight: A day in the life of 311 calls.
My roles were data analysis, coding (using Processing), art direction, and client management.
