Wesley Grubbs

I am an accomplished executive creative technologist with 26 years with digital experiences. I am passionate about telling stories with data, design-thinking, digital strategy, and building deeper, more meaningful relationships with data.

I have built and managed creative and technology-based teams since 2006 with proven multi-disciplinary team management skills. For my own data visualization studio (Pitch Interactive) as well as with client teams from over 50 clients, including several F100 companies.

I am a thought leader in data visualization and creative technologies, keen to constantly explore and dig deeper into relationships we have with our own data or from our environment. I believe better understanding ourselves and our world can help make better, more informed decisions.

I work fluidly between design, technology, business, and humanity. I have been a senior-level engineer, a senior-level graphic and UI designer, a project+operations manager, and always strive to build meaningful experiences for people. These skills put me in a prime position to lead teams of creative, technical, and analytical collaborators to understand roles and how to bring out the best in a multi-disciplinary team.

I am also a public speaker and give workshops focusing on the creative process of data visualization. I had the opportunity to show business-focused teams in Hong Kong think more creatively about their workflow. I’ve worked with humanitarian groups in Lebanon learn how to more clearly distill sensitive data about human rights. I’ve worked with artists in Aspen, Colorado learn to build data collecting sensors and visualize with code for the first time.

For teams struggling to build meaningful experiences with complex data, I consult directly with team members and executives, helping drive a project, such as a report, from concept to finish along the path of least resistance to help effectively communicate data and amplify a message.
